Serving Those In Need

Thanksgiving Community Meal

Posted on by Sarah Williams

Our annual Thanksgiving Day Community Meal will be held on Thursday November 24th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Edgerton.  We serve a  traditional meal of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole, dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie/pumpkin dessert.  The meal is served from 11:30am-12:30pm and meals can be delivered to those who wish to dine at home or that cannot make it to the meal site.  We are once again planning to serve over 500 meals for those who would otherwise go without.

Volunteers are needed to assist with peeling potatoes beginning at 3:30pm on Wednesday the 23rd at St. John’s.   Volunteers are also needed on Thanksgiving Day to package the carry out/delivery meals.  We begin that packaging at 9:45am and usually have all meals on the road by 11:15am!!

Donations of turkeys are greatly appreciated.  We like to have all turkeys in the freezer by the 10th of November so we know how many we need to purchase.  Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated to cover the cost of the supplies.  Donations can be mailed to 106 South Main Street, Edgerton WI, 53534 or can be made online via our website.
